[<a title="Senariotek" href="http://www.senariotek.com/" target="_blank">Senariotek Web Site</a>]</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Switch Matrices <a title="Senariotek" href="http://www.senariotek.com/" target="_blank"><img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-194" title="inside-matrix" src="http://www.customwirelessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/inside-matrix-150x150.jpg" alt="inside-matrix" width="150" height="150" /></a><br />
</strong></span></span></p>
<p class="copy"><span style="color: #000000;">Every automatic test system (ATE) uses one or more switch matrices to route signals between the test equipment and the UUT. A switch matrix allows multiple measurements to be made, 1) with a single connection, and 2) automatically. The switch matrix can also provide signal conditioning for the test system.</span></p>
<p class="copy"><span style="color: #000000;">Since both the stimulus and response signals must pass through the switch matrix, the characteristics of the matrix signal paths directly affect the accuracy and integrity of all measurements. It is impossible to design a switch matrix that does not degrade the signal. However, <strong>the switch matrix can be optimized for a specific application</strong>, thereby minimizing signal degradation for the principal operating condition in that application.</span></p>
